Free Workshop for Parents with Ida Karayan (5/20/11)

Easter Celebrations with Mesrobian Students

At School...
On Friday, April 15, Mesrobian students celebrated Easter at school (prior to starting their Spring Break). They started off the day by receiving Holy Communion. Following church services, students were offered a delicious complimentary breakfast prepared by the Mesrobian Faculty and Parent Faculty Club.

ECE (Early Childhood Education)
Following breakfast, Preschool & Prekindergarten students had an "Easter Fun Day" in their playground.  They had a giant egg hunt, and played various games, such as tug of war and egg race. They played with baby chicks and were ecstatic when the Easter bunny arrived! Students went home with their goody bags and giant smiles on their faces.

At Church...
Mesrobian students participated in church services at Holy Cross Apostolic Cathedral on Easter Eve, April 23, 2011.

"Denying genocide is wrong. Celebrating it is SICK!"

The following is a video shot on April 24th, of Pro-Turkey and Pro-Azerbaijan counter-protesters at the Easter Sunday silent vigil commemorating the Armenian Genocide. Watch as they sing, dance, and taunt the Armenians mourning their ancestors.

"Denying genocide is wrong. Celebrating it is sick.
And, as you can see for yourself, that's exactly what we are up against.
These allies of Ankara gathered on April 24th outside the Turkish Embassy to sing, and dance and taunt the Armenian families gathered on this sacred day to silently honor the memories of those lost to this terrible crime.
Their every cheer rejoiced in our suffering. Mocked our pain.
I saw them with my own eyes.  And I watched, afterwards, as they were warmly welcomed into the Turkish Embassy.
Help us stand up against this insult to our martyrs.
[Your help] will empower us to confront Turkey's hateful demonization of Armenians."

Aram Hamparian
ANCA Executive Director

And it doesn't end there...

Police ask two pro-Azerbaijani counter-protester why they have brought a baseball bat to a silent Easter Sunday commemoration of the Armenian Genocide in front of the Turkish Embassy.

This incident was part of a broader celebration of genocide by pro-Ankara protesters, who were welcomed into the Turkish Embassy following their demonstration.

Mesrobian's 2011 Open House!

Armenian Mesrobian School's "Open House" took place on Thursday, March 31, 2011. The event was a great turnout with the presence of parents, students, and community members. The night was about "change" - Mesrobian's change for greatness and excellence. The night began with a few speeches and a small slideshow portraying the positive steps Mesrobian has taken in the past few months. Parents were then free to visit classrooms, speak to teachers, and explore Mesrobian.
